“Full and Fractional DS3 Service has never been cheaper” |
DS3_Price_Trends Written by: Patrick Oborn - Jul 30, 2010 Like most telecommunications services DS3 prices (commonly known at T3) have been falling for the last few years. This is due to several factors. Competition has been heating up since deregulation in 1996. The number of companies offering service has exploded. With more competition in the marketplace service providers have to reduce their prices to attract customer and keep them from going to competitors. Service providers are desperate to keep margins but even more desperate to keep adding customers. This competitive arena has created a buyers market for DS3 lines and pricing is as favorable as it has ever been! The soft economy and crash of the stock market has also contributed to the reduction in ds3 price. Since the peak of the market in 1999 many companies have gone out of business and no longer require service. This means there's a smaller pie available and there are plenty of telecom providers trying to get their share. Once again, the buyer is in control and can shop until he or she finds the price that is right for them. A final reason for the reduction in DS3 pricing is the fact that equipment costs and the cost of supplying the bandwidth have decreased. This means that companies can supply the bandwidth at a lower cost. As bandwidth usage continues to increase as a result of bandwidth hungry applications like video on demand and graphic heavy applications the price of bandwidth will continue to drop. The only factor that seems likely to inhibit prices from falling much further is the "last mile" or the connection from the users premise to the service providers' POP (Point of Presence), but we'll save this issue for another article. Until then, enjoy those affordable DS3's and good luck finding a price that's right for you! |
| The term, T1 or T-1 itself is short for Trunk Level 1, which is a standard for digital transmission under the DS (Digital Signal Level) hierarchy. Businesses choose a bonded T1 over a DSL line when connectivity is of necessary for business continuity. Savvis manages an integrated global IP and transport network that delivers IP and voice business solutions for large enterprises and telecommunications carriers. A T3 Line is also known as a T-carrier 3 that has a digital transmission line of 44.736 Mbps and/or 672 voice channels and commonly sold at 45 MB. Call for a free consultation regarding T1 voice and data service availability with a price quote comparison while we negotiate special pricing for you. An Internet T3 connection is a dedicated line that provides six-hundred-seventy-two 64 Kbps of data or voice channels or equal to 28 T1 lines. Electronic mail or E-Mail is an asynchronous communication because it is not a prerequisite for the sender and receiver to be connected to the Internet at the same time. We provide easy traffic shaping and data limiting with Bandwidth management tools. Sharing a DS3/T3 Line gives access to very high bandwidth transmission rates for much less money than the cost of a full T3 access set-up. A local installer will make certain that your location is not obstructed by trees or other objects prior to performing the actual installation. If the amount of users you need to connect your network is below 30, then an E3 connection would far exceed the capacity requirements of your business. There is a downside to the T1 service however, often times when the lines are utilized they can run to be extremely expensive for businesses on a tight budget. The T1 dependability and consistent predictable data throughput of a T1 Line stands in contrast to DSL connections, which are usually oversubscribed and commonly congested and unreliable. The Internet backbone itself consists of faster T-3 line connections. Backbone as it relates to telecommunications is the part of a communications network that handles the major traffic using the highest-speed, and often longest, paths in the network usually consisting of optical fiber and copper wires. Wi-Fi is the acronym for Wireless Fidelity and is the wireless network equipment certification that ensures certain levels of performance, compatibility and features that are available based on the IEEE 802.11b standard. You will enjoy phone and Internet service like you have never deemed possible. Fiber optics can be more expensive in the long run and might not be available in your area. The CLEC simply buys what it needs from the LEC at a wholesale price. Fiber optic cables are not made from copper which the utility is required to share, but are essentially glass, which they are not required to share. It works form the local market to channel the DS3, so to deliver voice and data to those within the local community. An E3 connection is a great solution for most large businesses and organizations that demand high data transfer rates. To determine the price of a bonded T1 line is to take the price of a single T1 lines and times it by the amount of additional T1 lines that comprised the bonded T1 line. To put it simply, the Internet is the compilation of networks and it communicates by using the universal protocol language TCP/IP or Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. An Internet T-1 is provisioned as an unchannelized raw bit stream of 1.536 Mbps of transmission both ways, plus .008 Mbps framing bits. |
